So, you think you need to seal your stone…what’s next?
Whether your love affair with your stone is new or it has been a long term love-hate relationship, we are glad you are considering our services. We seal stone in homes and businesses around the Triangle, and we love the difference we can make in the way our clients feel about their stone.
Now that you are sure you need a sealer, you are probably wondering about the process. . .
When our clients call us to seal their stone, we schedule a time that is convenient for them. We look at the stone and access the situation. At times, there are noticeable stains or etching that need to be fixed before sealing, so we make the repairs that are needed. When stains are involved, we may need to treat the stone overnight. When the stone is ready, we clean the stone and begin the sealing process.
There are usually five steps to the sealing process for countertops and less for flooring and other surfaces. There will be variation depending on the color of your stone and its porosity, but the application time is usually well under two hours. The sealed stone is able to be used right away, and there are no harmful fumes to cause concern. It really is a simple process, using sophisticated products and our knowledge about the stone.
After the application, clients will be given a lifetime transferable warranty that covers both staining and etching of granite countertops 100%. The warranty coverage is variable on other surfaces, ranging from one to ten years.
