Typically one can expect a week and a half from tear-out of the countertops until the time of plumbing reconnection. All selections (sink, faucet, stone), are made and purchased prior to the tear-out to ensure optimal “turn-around” time.
We require a 75% deposit on all materials at time of selection and reservation of stone. A contract is also signed at this time. Once the deposit is received, we send the stone to our shop to await the arrival of the templates. The balance of the project is due no later than the day of project completion.
We prefer to meet each client at one of our local suppliers to choose the specific stone that is used. Many times a client will find something from our extensive selection, while other times we may need to look at an additional supplier to find the perfect slab/slabs.
Our company has formed relationships with suppliers across our state and even the country. We feel certain we will be able to find the stone of your dreams.
Many of our clients elect to have the Granite Shield sealing process applied to their stone for optimal protection. The care instructions differ from stone that has been sealed in this way and stone that has been sealed with our standard sealers. Care will be described for stone sealed with Granite Shield at the time of sealing. When the Granite Shield process has not been applied, we encourage our clients to follow the Marble Institute of America’s Care instructions for their stone.
The answer to this largely depends on the dimensions of your countertops in relation to the size of the slabs that you choose. We will guide you through this part of the process, keeping seams to a minimum or avoiding them all together. When a long run requires a seam, we are careful to disrupt the flow of the stone as little as possible. While you still may see a seam, our company prides itself in the art of installation. We also discuss the “layout” of the stone on the slab, prior to fabrication. Often our clients are invited to join us for this portion of the process if they should choose.
This depends on the material you have chosen. Each stone has what may be considered as both positive and negatives qualities. For more on this we encourage personal research, asking questions to the owners and employees of Phoenix Stone Solutions and reading the “Which stone is right for me” page on this site.
This depends on the amount of overhang. We typically support any overhang in excess of ten inches. We have many options for support, including decorative corbels, steel brackets that cannot be seen and decorative legs. This will be discussed at the time of initial measurement or time or tear-out and template.
Our company has several stock options that will be available to you. we can be as involved or as uninvolved as you need us to be in the selections process. If our clients do not wish to use our stock options, we send them to or meet them at the appropriate supplier to make a more customized selection. Some of our clients know exactly what they want prior to calling us, while others request that we walk with them as they make selections.
Yes. Our edge profiles range from standard to custom, from flat-polished to mitered or laminated. This is part of the selections process and will be discussed prior to template, at time of contract.
